What is Cacti ?

Cacti is a complete frontend to RRDTool, it stores all of the necessary information to create graphs and populate them with data in a MySQL database. The frontend is completely PHP driven. Along with being able to maintain Graphs, Data Sources, and Round Robin Archives in a database, cacti handles the data gathering. There is also SNMP support for those used to creating traffic graphs with MRTG.

Preparing Anything

I assume you already have apache + php + mysql running in OpenSUSE11.

What is Apache / HTTPD ?
Apache is a freely available Web server that is distributed under an open source license. It is the most widely-installed Web server.

What is PHP ?
PHP is a scripting language originally designed for producing dynamic web pages. It has evolved to include a command line interface capability and can be used in standalone graphical applications.

What is MySQL ?

Nginx is (pronounced "engine X") is a lightweight web server/reverse proxy and e-mail (IMAP/POP3) proxy, licensed under a BSD-like license.

In This tutorial we will try to install Nginx web server with PHP5, PHP5 Ext, MySQL5 and Pecl-Memcache PHP module in FreeBSD7 server.

I assume you already have freebsd server up and running.
We will using port to install all packages.
